Precious Jesus

"Afresh, precious, precious Jesus, I resign this body to You, for doing or suffering, for living or dying. Will You accept it? Will You use me for Your glory more than heretofore, that You may have some little return for all the benefits You have done to me? Oh, do grant this request; my heart longs for it, my spirit pleads for it; and "if You will, You can." You know the hot temptation of which I am the subject. Bring Your glory out of it, and keep me from the evil, and it shall be well." - Ruth Bryan

All that I am

"By the grace of God I am what I am!
1 Corinthians 15:10

All that I am . . .
  as a child of God,
  as a servant of Christ,
as an heir of Heavenly glory
 — I am by the grace of God!

Am I cleansed from the guilt of my sins? It was Your grace, O God of love, which opened the fountain that washed it all away!

Am I justified? It was Your grace that provided the spotless robe of righteousness, in which I stand accepted before You.

Am I sanctified? It is not by works of righteousness which I have done, but by Your grace I am saved from the love and power of my sins.

Am I bearing any fruit to Your glory? It is by Your grace in Christ Jesus — for apart from Him, I could do nothing.

Am I different from what I once was, or from the ungodly who have their portion in this world? It is Your grace alone which has made me to differ. I have nothing which I have not received from You.

"By the grace of God I am what I am!"
  A pardoned sinner,
  a justified believer,
  an adopted child,
  an heir of glory!

Only God knows what I would be now as a vessel fit for destruction, had He not intervened in my life. Thank God He purchased me with the shed blood of the Lamb and set me on the narrow road to eternal life. No doubt my life would be in ruins, for I was content in my wicked sins, even though I knew right from wrong. Or very possibly I would be dead by the hands of other wicked sinners.

God has graciously bestowed His blessings upon me and I am grateful. I could just as easily have been condemned, as are many others.

My name was written in the Lamb's Book of Life before the foundation of the world. I've jokingly said "I'm glad my Mother got my name right" - you know, the same one that's written down in heaven.

Sometimes I wonder if it will be revealed to us what we would have become without God's saving grace. I'm not sure I'd want to know.

I am sure if God had not pulled me out of the sewer I was swimming in, I would be either dead or near death.

I cannot say enough how marvelous His saving grace is! I am SO thankful He saved me, and I did NOTHING to contribute to that salvation. He gets ALL GLORY, ALL PRAISE!
