Precious Jesus

"Afresh, precious, precious Jesus, I resign this body to You, for doing or suffering, for living or dying. Will You accept it? Will You use me for Your glory more than heretofore, that You may have some little return for all the benefits You have done to me? Oh, do grant this request; my heart longs for it, my spirit pleads for it; and "if You will, You can." You know the hot temptation of which I am the subject. Bring Your glory out of it, and keep me from the evil, and it shall be well." - Ruth Bryan

Comparing truth with lies

It does not like doctrinal preaching; it is always so vague… The false prophet very rarely tells you anything about the holiness, the righteousness, the justice, and the wrath of God. He always preaches about the love of God,  {emphasis mine} but those other things he does not mention. He never makes anyone tremble as he thinks of this holy and august Being. – D. Martyn Lloyd Jones, Studies in the Sermon on the Mount, 1976, pages 501-502

'I do not understand that mentality in the Christian Church today which says that we must all come together and sink our differences; and that what we believe does not matter. It is a denial of the Book of the Acts of the Apostles, and of the story of the twelve ignorant, untutored and unlettered men who knew whom and what they believed, and who had the power of the Spirit upon them, and who ‘turned the world upside-down’. This is surely one of the central messages of the Bible. The great concern of the New Testament Epistles is not about the size of the Church, it is about the purity of the Church. The Apostles never said to the first Christians, ‘You are antagonizing people by emphasizing doctrine. Say more about the love of God and less about the wrath of God. They do not even like the Cross, and they cannot abide the story of the resurrection! Drop that talk about the wrath of God and Christ’s ethical teaching!’ Not so do the Apostles speak!
There is an exclusiveness in the New Testament that is quite amazing. The Apostle Paul writing to the Galatians says, ‘Though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached, let him be accursed’ (Galatians 1:8). ‘My Gospel!’, says Paul writing to Timothy. He denounces other teachers. So many of these modern preachers are much nicer people than the Apostle Paul! They never say a word against anyone at all, they praise everybody, and they are praised by everybody. They are never ‘negative’! They never define what they believe and what they do not believe. They are said to be ‘full of love’. I am not misjudging them when I say that that is not the explanation. The explanation is that they do not ‘contend for the truth’, they are innocent concerning the ‘wiles of the devil’. It is not for us to decide what to leave out and what to drop for the sake of unity. My business is to expound this truth, to declare it — come what may! We must not be interested primarily in numbers, we must be interested in the truth of God. Why are many today denying the glory of the Protestant Reformation? Martin Luther — one man, standing against the whole Church — would be dismissed today as ‘just an individualist who never cooperates’. But he stood up and said in effect, ‘I am right, you are all wrong!’
Heresies always result from the wiles of the devil, the efforts of the principalities and powers. Are your eyes open to it? Do you realize the relevance of all this to you as a member of the Christian Church? Are you being carried away by this loose, general, sentimental talk? God forbid that any of us should ever say that it matters not what you believe as long as you are a Christian. May God open our eyes, and having given us to see the truth, then enable us ‘to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might’. ‘Take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.’--Martyn Lloyd Jones

"As I read the Bible, I find love to be the supreme and dominant attribute of God." Billy Graham, from https://billygraham.org/story/billy-graham-on-experiencing-gods-love/  Apparently Graham never read Isaiah chapter 6, "HOLY HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD OF HOSTS. THE WHOLE EARTH IS FULL OF HIS GLORY!"
"The Bible says God is speaking. And God is saying, “I love you. I love you. I love you. Whoever you are, whatever your circumstances, I love you!” { I ask this, where is this found in the bible?} And because God is love, there’s hope tonight in our hearts." from https://billygraham.org/decision-magazine/march-2015/billy-graham-on-the-love-of-god/
From that same link, in passing, Graham adds, "The Bible teaches that God is also holy. “The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works” (Psalm 145:17). Not much expounding on God's holiness by Graham is there? I point this out because of what MLJ stated at the top of this post.

I want to point out the preaching of Peter concerning Simon, from Acts 8, "Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 21Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. 22Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. 23For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity."  What?!?! How dare Peter 'judge' Simon!!!! Note the sarcasm here. Take note, Peter did NOT tell Simon God was gushing with love for him did he? He pointed to his sinful, wicked heart, he pointed to the fact that Simon was still in the bond of iniquity and the gall of bitterness, even though Simon 'believed'. Take note free willers.

Now go back one chapter, from Acts 7, this is an excerpt from Stephen's preaching, "51Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. 52Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: 53Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
The message of a true man of God is NOT one of gushy, mushy, lovey dovey emotional pleas.  Compare the garbage Graham spewed out with the Spirit empowered truth given by Stephen and Peter!! What a contrast!!!

Those with discernment will notice the contrast of today's 'preachers' and that of the true men of God.  It is time for the elect of God to draw a line in the sand and separate from ALL that is false, and that includes Billy Graham, his family, and ALL who support and defend him! Only the true elect will do so.
