Precious Jesus

"Afresh, precious, precious Jesus, I resign this body to You, for doing or suffering, for living or dying. Will You accept it? Will You use me for Your glory more than heretofore, that You may have some little return for all the benefits You have done to me? Oh, do grant this request; my heart longs for it, my spirit pleads for it; and "if You will, You can." You know the hot temptation of which I am the subject. Bring Your glory out of it, and keep me from the evil, and it shall be well." - Ruth Bryan

Getting it right

I've been 'taken out to the woodshed' on other forums for stating that homosexuals don't love one another, that their 'attractions' to one another are not based on true love. I think it's important we understand what the perversion is birthed from and based on, otherwise we tend to sympathize with them and lose clear thinking on the matter. Here's the biblical argument I present....

Romans 1:27a, ' and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another'. Now, let's  focus in on 'burned in their desire'. Burned means 'to inflame deeply'; this burning is NOT a normal 'attraction' this is a deep-seeded desire to 'conquer' the object of your burning. This is from Vincent word studies, "The terms are terrible in their intensity. Lit., burned out. The preposition indicates the rage of the lust." Now, let's go on to 'desire' - from Strong's - ' longing after: - lust.' Again, I refer you to Vincent's word studies, 'Only here in the New Testament. It is a reaching out after something with the purpose of appropriating it. In later classical Greek it is the most general term for every kind of desire, as the appetite for food. The peculiar expressiveness of the word here is sufficiently evident from the context.' This is the birth of the sin of homosexuality, a 'burning desire'. God's own word lays out and defines homosexual 'attraction', which is no attraction at all - it is a uncontrollable lusting after the same sex. Let me add commentary from Theologian John Gill, "an exceeding great sin this is, contrary to nature, dishonourable to human nature, and scandalous to a people and nation among whom it prevails, as it did very much in the Gentile world.'"

This is how the Bible defines the lust that homosexuals claim is 'love' and 'attraction'. If you don't study the original language, you will be duped into thinking they are right.  The homosexual agenda seeks to push their perversion off on society as normal {source}, so they use words like 'attraction' and 'orientation' to normalize what the Bible calls an abomination and says is unnatural. Yes, we should reach out to the homosexual with the good news of the Gospel, but we should NOT forget the great evil that lies in this perversion. The downward progression of sin leads to horrific judgment, as Jude 1:7 reminds us '
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. '
