Precious Jesus

"Afresh, precious, precious Jesus, I resign this body to You, for doing or suffering, for living or dying. Will You accept it? Will You use me for Your glory more than heretofore, that You may have some little return for all the benefits You have done to me? Oh, do grant this request; my heart longs for it, my spirit pleads for it; and "if You will, You can." You know the hot temptation of which I am the subject. Bring Your glory out of it, and keep me from the evil, and it shall be well." - Ruth Bryan

What is apostasy?

So true Lynn.

There are those who are "ever learning yet never coming to an understanding of the truth"...and what they have will be taken away so that even what which they thought they had will be taken away...

Some think this means a person can be saved and then lose their salvation. I see it as what they had never having been infused with the Truth, the Holy Spirit needs to cause a quickening in the person who "believes", because even the demons believe and tremble yet we know they are not saved.

I find the analogies in the NT of trees, branches, and grafting in helpful to understanding what needs to happen. If a branch is grafted into a tree, it needs to "take". The life that flows through the tree needs to enter into the grafted branch or else that branch will only appear to be alive, until the life that belongs to that branch runs out. If the life that flows through the tree hasn't entered into the grafted branch, it won't be long before we see the branch wither and dry up. Likewise the Life that is in Christ, the root of Jesse, needs to flow up through the tree and into the grafted branches. If it is only their own life flowing in them, they may have the right appearance, for a while, however they will eventually dry up, and those branches will be cut off and thrown into the fire.

Those who believe they can lose their salvation do not understand that salvation never originated with them in the first place. God saves, and whom He saves, He keeps 'til the end.

Good comment Susan, nice insight! Thank you for the visit, may God bless you this day.<3
