Precious Jesus

"Afresh, precious, precious Jesus, I resign this body to You, for doing or suffering, for living or dying. Will You accept it? Will You use me for Your glory more than heretofore, that You may have some little return for all the benefits You have done to me? Oh, do grant this request; my heart longs for it, my spirit pleads for it; and "if You will, You can." You know the hot temptation of which I am the subject. Bring Your glory out of it, and keep me from the evil, and it shall be well." - Ruth Bryan

Yada Yada Yada

I have recently been made aware of the revisionists attempts to deny the condemnation of homosexuality clearly found in God's word. It is amazing to me the lengths we sinners go to to justify our lustful desires; there's a lot of twisting going on and indeed there has to be if one is to say God does not speak out against homosexuality. This deluded lie caused me to order a wonderful book by Dr. James White of Alpha and Omega Ministries   entitled 'Same Sex Controversy'. I am not far into the book and already I am overjoyed {but not surprised} with Dr. White's adherence to the authority of God's word and his upholding of that word as he takes apart the revisionists lies concerning homosexuality.  This book is a tremendous help in the battle for the truth: if you do not have this book, I highly recommend it, especially if you have loved ones caught in the bondage of homosexuality and the lies spewed by the revisionists. We need to understand what the attack on God's word is, where it comes from, and how to 'counter-attack'.  Dr. White's book will equip you with information necessary to do just that.

One of the lies told is that Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed because of homosexual sin, destruction came because of 'inhospitable people'.  Concerning this, Dr. White states, "It is not denied that the inhabitants of Sodom were an inhospitable people, but it must be remembered that sin is rarely alone in the lives of those who revel in it. Sin is often a complex of attitudes and actions, joined together by a common thread of rebellion against God and His ways. Indeed, arrogance and pride are closely related to a willingness to twist even the most basic and fundamental aspect of our being, our sexuality, and to flaunt this in the face of God and our fellow creatures. So to point to other sins of Sodom and Gomorrah as if this means homosexuality was not part and parcel of the sin of the cities is to assume far too narrow a range of sin in their experience. Sodom and Gomorrah is so closely linked with God's wrath, giving, as it does, one of the earliest examples of the pouring out of His wrath in the period after the flood, that it became a byword for sinfulness that brings certain judgment."

The argument continues by stating the Hebrew word 'yada' found in Genesis 19 does not mean sexual activity - their objection states 'it is highly unlikely that 'know' {yada} in Genesis 19 means to know sexually or in a homosexual context. The word is used over nine hundred times in the Bible, and it simply does not refer to homosexual activity in any of those instances': Dr. White directs their attention to a very close parallel to Sodom found in Judges 19:22-25, 'While they were celebrating, behold, the men of the city, certain worthless fellows, surrounded the house, pounding the door; and they spoke to the owner of the house, the old man, saying, "Bring out the man who came into your house that we may have relations with him." Then the man, the owner of the house, went out to them and said to them, "No, my fellows, please do not act so wickedly; since this man has come into my house, do not commit this act of folly. "Here is my virgin daughter and his concubine. Please let me bring them out that you may ravish them and do to them whatever you wish. But do not commit such an act of folly against this man." But the men would not listen to him. So the man seized his concubine and brought her out to them; and they raped her and abused her all night until morning, then let her go at the approach of dawn. '
In verse 22, we find the Hebrew word 'yada' again - 'that we may have relations with him'.  From Dr. White, "But just as in Genesis 19, the rest of the story clinches the debate: the very same word is used in verse 25 - 'and they raped her', literally, 'they knew her'. Yada here is obviously sexual, hence, the use in verse 22 would be in reference to homosexual 'knowing'.

For every false claim the enemy makes, Dr. White refutes with rock solid truth from God's word using  the original language as well as keeping verses in context and pointing to historical Christianity; something unregenerates fail to do when twisting God's holy word to justify sin. Historically, homosexuality has always been understood to be an abomination, it is only within the past couple of decades or so that we find the same weapon used by Satan since the garden...'did God really say?'...

Dr. White quotes Francis Schaeffer's writings from the '70's...
"The thinkables of the eighties and nineties will certainly include things which most people today find unthinkable and immoral, even unimaginable and too extreme to suggest. Yet, since they do not have some overriding principle that takes them beyond relativistic thinking, when these become thinkable and acceptable in the eighties and nineties, most people will not even remember that they were unthinkable in the seventies. They will slide into each new thinkable without a jolt".

How true is that?!? This is exactly where we are today, with so many within the church confused about this abomination and afraid to speak out against it, or not informed enough to know how to.

The reason homosexuality is such a deadly and terrifying sin is NOT that it is worse than adultery, or any type of sex outside the covenant of marriage; it's what this sin brings as it engulfs cities and nations....judgment.

Jude1:7  'Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.'

It is fitting to include John Gill's commentary on 'strange flesh'..'or "other flesh"; meaning not other women besides their own wives, but men; and designs that detestable and unnatural sin, which, from these people, is called sodomy to this day; and which is an exceeding great sin, contrary to the light of nature and law of God, dishonourable to human nature, and scandalous to a nation and people, and commonly prevails where idolatry and infidelity do, as among the Papists and Mahometans; and arose from idleness and fulness of bread in Sodom, and was committed in the sight of God, with great impudence: their punishment follows'...

Another article that exposes the lie stating homosexuality is not a sin can be found at Kevin DeYoung's site, 'what does the bible really say about homosexuality'.

We must proclaim the truth about homosexuality, even if they do not listen. There is no such thing as a 'gay Christian', there is no way you can willfully sin against God and think you will enter His kingdom. That's just what this revisionist belief is doing, telling homosexuals they are fine the way they are, that the Bible does not speak out against their abomination and that Jesus loves them {even though they deliberately sin against Him}, and they are swallowing it up hook,  line and sinker.
Judgment is rapidly approaching, we who stand fast will face situations and tribulations we have never faced or thought we would see in our lifetime. As the saying goes, 'it's about to get ugly'...

Pray, Pray, Pray.

"One of the lies told is that Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed because of homosexual sin, destruction came because of 'inhospitable people'."--

-I've heard that line before and I'm like are you serious? You actually think homosexuality was not one of the major sins of Sodom and Gomorrah?? I shake my head at the lengths people will go to to defend their lifestyle all the while we are BORN that way as SINNERS-DEAD in our transgressions and sins. I wanna shake them to reality and ask them would you defend a pile of dung as beautiful? There are other sins in our lives and we have to repent!

"People wouldn’t give up dirt for diamonds? the only things Jesus asks for us to give up are the things that will hurt us. Every time God says thou shalt not he’s saying don’t hurt yourself."

Have you read about Andy Stanley Responds to Inquiries Regarding Stance on Homosexuality"on CRN? It's like he's trying to separate homosexuality and adultery~~

It sounds like people's desperate attempts to placating homosexuality just like White points out. People are elevating homosexuality as "if" God approves of it by trying so relentlessly to place the shift or blame on other sins.

God is giving people over and it's just so sad and heartbreaking.

Thanks lyn,
love in Christ, Linda

I take them back to Genesis 2:24, the origin of the covenant of marriage...between a man and a woman. Any and all sex outside that covenant is forbidden...PERIOD. They have no retaliatory response when I bring this up. Sexual immorality is covered in every area completely in God's word and should leave no doubt as to what is moral and what isn't. However, we live in times where truth is suppressed and sin is celebrated. As I said, we know what is coming don't we?

Always appreciate your comments here sister,

Right again, Lyn, and frighteningly so. Parts of Europe and all of Canada have not been allowing any derogatory talk about gays for some time now. Hate speech laws here are being used at the whim of law enforcement. Mass media is fully on board with the gay agenda. Schools are teaching the gay life style is now something to be celebrated.

Where all this is headed is anybody's guess, but the future for those of us who name the Name of Christ as Lord is likely to be filled with all manner of persecutions. I have every confidence that the grace of our Lord will reign supreme in our hearts and lives as things continue to wax worse and worse.

I saw a news story where a boy was suspended from school because he wore a Jesus t-shirt to school in Canada. His shirt said “Life is wasted without Jesus" - not exactly a clear presentation of the Gospel, but nothing harmful either...or so you would think. He was suspended for a week because his shirt was considered 'hate speech' and could be offensive to folks of other religions. We know where this is all headed.

You are correct in stating of upcoming persecutions; we are headed for trying times for the true believer. We will be imprisoned, beaten, and martyred. That is why we must pray diligently for one another. Whatever God has be it. I trust in my Rock to carry me through, and I know you do too.

bless you brother
