Precious Jesus

"Afresh, precious, precious Jesus, I resign this body to You, for doing or suffering, for living or dying. Will You accept it? Will You use me for Your glory more than heretofore, that You may have some little return for all the benefits You have done to me? Oh, do grant this request; my heart longs for it, my spirit pleads for it; and "if You will, You can." You know the hot temptation of which I am the subject. Bring Your glory out of it, and keep me from the evil, and it shall be well." - Ruth Bryan

Has the Church lost its fear of the LORD?

After watching this, I was moved to share. I do believe we do not fully comprehend what it means to fear God.
I encourage you to watch this...

I'm so glad you are still sensitive to the Fear of the Lord Lyn. I thank God for you sister and I pray for you as God places you on my heart with this ministry you have through your blog.
Sadly, the Church-true believers have for the most part lost the fear of the Lord. It really grieves my heart.

We should always cry out to God like David said in the Psalms--"For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me"--51:3 It takes work((NOT that we're trying to earn or work for God's grace)))NO! but because we we are saved and work FROM God's grace.
I thought Alex McFarland made an interesting point when he said--"When a good truth becomes a bad thing we are in 21st century 400 yrs removed from the reformation"
" Eli knew the Lord but for the son’s of Eli the holy things became familiar there wasn’t this sense of reverence or sacredness anymore. So in our own country 60’s and 70’s big formal mainline religion in our tee shirts and jeans 35 -40 years of church lite. we don’t see the things of God as holy and the church things holy, so now we can have mud wrestling or superbowl or youth event in the church etc. This was never the intent and we have a generation that doesn’t see anything anything --no thing, space, behavior-nothing is sacred—hey we’re free in Christ and yes we are free THAT IS TRUE BUT THIS FREEDOM IN CHRIST HAS BECOME what but I call a militant autonomy"

Pray, spend time In God's word, pray for others and for God to grant us the Fear of the Lord

Amen and amen sister. The visible church is a mess, man made traditions and programs that cater to the unregenerate are everywhere.
We need to fall on our faces and intercede on behalf of this, and every nation...judgment is coming and it will be swift and severe.

Yes we DO and you know sis, it really is true that prayer changes the prayeree. It only takes one faithful child of God praying.

"Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."-James 5:16

Ecc 3:11 "He has made everything beautiful in its time."

God forbid we should fail to pray for this, and all nations. Let us pray fervently for the nations precious sister.

You know Lyn, I was crying out to the Lord today. The desire to Please God should be motivated by our gratefulness and thankfulness to God for giving us the supreme treasure --Jesus. My greatest FEAR has been that my pride and sin are always before me. I HATE sin in that it always has to show us that our mountaintops are temporary in our walk with Christ until we get to heaven. I recon that's how God keeps us humble--and that's a good thing.
“Pursuit is the proof of our desire.” Where are our desires? If we are not desiring the Only Righteousness that is by faith---to please GOD who is already satisfied with His Son,then something is wrong with our pursuing.

Proverbs chapter 2 says it so well—No wonder we can find GREAT JOY from a verse and want to share that same JOY with others but somehow when we do share with them, they or we don’t have that same JOY. It’s because our desires are a mess and in the wrong place.

Dear one we need to repent and ask God who is the Gardner to cultivate our hearts to desire HIM and show us our sins and PRAY God grants us a glimpse of the glory of Christ rising in our hearts so we will set our affections where they are supposed to be-- Gal 5:16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

All of us from time to time can become indifferent and cold to the things of God. That's why we need to Pray---God richly bless you sister

Well said Linda, I know exactly what you mean. Those of us who are in Christ need to cry out for hearts that are set on Him, hearts that desire Him and long for our Lord and our eternal home. I notice across the 'blogosphere' many are more concerned with exalting their knowledge, forgetting we are supposed to love our brethren and strive for humility.
May our gracious and merciful God search our hearts, may He empower us to serve, love, desire, long for and look for His coming.

Bless you sister!

We have lost our NEEDING the LORD. We have deceit and wicked hearts that keep us from seeing how ugly we are before a Holy GOD.

I pray today that God would have MERCY and would grant us eyes to SEE our true condition and repent. That God according to His unfailing love would create in us a pure heart and a steadfast spirit within us to sustain us. For the SAKE of HIS NAME

I'm referring to BELIEVERS HERE

God bless you Lyn

Amen Linda...I fear many of us have become too cozy in this world and grown attached to money and material possessions. Also, a wrong view on the end times has caused many to let their guard down. I pray our Lord will search the hearts of his people and bring us to repentance. Time is short.

Bless you sister

You're so right Lyn. We really are resembling the church at Laodicea.

Rev 3:17 "You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked."

we have forgotten who has blessed us and we have taken God for granted and treated His goodness in our lives as if WE earned these things and as if WE are self sufficient.
We NEED the LORD and I just PRAY that God will grant us His mercy by remembering His Name His faithfulness and His Justice

May God richly bless you sis and yes Jesus is coming soon, Maranatha
