America's forgotten

The Dow is soaring as we speak, albeit temporary; as the world deems survival based on monetary terms, many may think we are on the road to recovery. With the record number who shopped and spent their money this past 'black Friday' & 'cyber Monday', things do look better, on the surface. However, let's go with 60 Minutes into a topic most Americans would just as soon not talk about...the homeless. This is a heartbreaking story and it is reality {the number of the homeless continues to grow, just as does unemployment}. This is not what you see on your nightly news, instead, you will see stories of financial bailouts, banks merging and doing what they must for the greater good; mainstream media only gives you the 'good news'. The truth is America, and the world, is racing toward judgment. Our world is falling apart and man, in his wisdom, cannot fix what is wrong.

Not telling the heartbreaking stories like this one give people a false sense of 'all is right with the world', when, in fact, it is anything but. Please, do pray for these folks, and all of mankind; whether they live in comfort or in the street, without Jesus Christ, they have no hope...

Check this video out as well.

It's kind of scarey watching that because that could be my husband and I in a few years! May the Lord graciously provide more people jobs in this country!

this could happen to any one of us, at any given time. I do believe it will get worse, especially when the financial collapse happens. This will lead to the one world government and currency, but it will get ugly before that happens.

Exactly Lyn and this is why it is so essential to be grounded in God's word and make sure we are learning to hold onto things of this world with a much looser grip and tighter to holding onto Jesus Christ. Learn the attributes and Character of our God and let Him be your Confidence and your Peace and Joy no matter what happens. And Pray. I fear many Christians are ill equipped because they have been living and incognito with the world.

Job 36:19 "Would your wealth or even all your mighty efforts sustain you so you would not be in distress?"

Proverbs 14:32 When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge.

Amen, and pray, pray, pray

I apologize Committed Christian for not responding to you. I agree with you that it is kinda scarey.

But with our committment to the Lord Jesus as your name so beautifully implies, He has defeated death and sin and given us eternal life.

Jesus said do not worry for isn't life more important than food and isn't the body more important than clothes.. One powerful truth we must realize is that even if it means our very life, we have eternal life and there's really nothing to fear.

and when it comes to prayer, most Christians are falling asleep. Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane said to keep watch and pray.

I listened to a video where a guy said "Beware lest we begin thinking of sin and flesh lightly. We don’t think that falling into temptation and giving into the flesh is that big of a deal-that’s why Jesus came and we can be forgiven and all that-----Beware lest we start thinking lightly of SIN and the FLESH. Falling asleep is what the disciples did when Jesus said to WATCH and PRAY. Beware when we start getting comfortable and sleepy with it. Samson fell asleep with his head in the lap of Delilah. Undiscerning, unknowing, unrecognizing the terrible danger he was in. When we stop watching, praying and walking in the Spirit, we become an absolute bulls eye for the enemy to nail us and drag us away."

I believe this describes many Christians in our day-falling asleep and giving into the flesh.

Anyways, I just wanted to interact with you because I know when I go to websites and people just don't respond back to me but to the same people, it just makes me feel left out and I'm sorry if I in any way did that to you.

my name is Linda by the way.
May the Lord richly bless you and yours
