The Warning

This comes from Roger Oakland's 'understand the times'.....

There is a pattern we find throughout the Word of God. God always warns before He brings judgment on sinful man. God is merciful and never reacts quickly without giving sinners a chance to repent. While He hates sin, He has often allowed men to carry on even if they do not respond. However there are always consequences of sin. The Bible states that the wages of sin is death. Often sin is exposed publically, and others are reminded to get right with God.

As we read through the Bible, we see how God has always raised up men and women to warn the people of coming judgments. The first time this occurred in history was before the great flood of Noah. Very few listened to Noah. God used Noah to warn, and then the judgment came. For the majority who refused to listen, they were wiped out in a global catastrophe.

Yes, I agree with Roger Oakland that we are hearing the final, final, final call from our Lord.

I thank God every single day for granting another day of His mercy and patience

2Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

Eternity is a long time to be wrong. God has been so, so good to us---

What coherent deity, allegedly hating the very vague notion of "sin" would endow its alleged greatest creation with the ability to "sin?" What supposedly merciful deity would then punish said entities for what was clearly its own shortcoming to begin with?

If only you believers only stopped for one moment to question the logical coherence (and lack thereof) of the nonsense you are brainwashed to believe in, this planet would be in much better shape.

You are of course likely to just delete this comment, but deep down you know all this to be true.

Overtoddity,

Your comment comes from a mind who does not understand the Creator of the universe. Man sins because all of mankind is wicked, all have sin natures and sinful minds. God does not make us do what comes natural...sin. God is holy and pure, therefore He must punish sin. In His mercy, He has made a way of reconciliation thru His own Son, Jesus Christ. God is not obligated to save anyone, He does so because He is also a God of mercy and grace.

When you see the stars in the sky, or the full moon, or oceans, mountains, a child being born...do you honestly think all that just happens by chance? I know you don't because God gave you a mind and a conscience, along with His creation, to understand there must be a Creator. It is when men suppress the truth that they fail to understand.

"A fool says in his heart, there is no God"-psalm 14:1
Your Creator says you are a fool, which means moron in the original language. That does not mean He has not or will not show mercy to you: God desires to save men but men must cry out to Him for mercy, and men must understand their sins have separated them from their God.

Whether you believe or not is irrelevant, that does not change the fact that God's wrath remains on you; His mercy presently keeps you in this world. You will die, that day of your departure is closer now than ever. You may mock, but I guarantee you when it comes, you will be terrified. God has put eternity in the hearts of men. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment. Hebrews 9:27

I am curious, why would you visit a Christian blog and read anything there if you are agnostic?

I'm an atheist, not an agnostic. There is sufficient evidence to dismiss any current notion of metaphysical deity, so agnosticism is merely idle fence-sitting and a waste of time.

I'm a cognitive science student, and I wish to understand the working of a mind when it convinces itself to believe what is patently unreal. That aside, believers frequently visit atheist blogs. That's just what you should expect when you make a public blog.

Now, I see you have opted to gloss over all of my questions. Anyone would think you didn't have an answer for them. Care to prove me wrong?

Your propensity to seek a supernatural explanation for very natural phenomena such as nuclear fusion and planetary formation is very much reminiscent of many forms of pagan animism. As a Christian you are definitely walking a dangerous line there ;)

P.S. Take no offence, but unless your next comment contains replies to my original questions, I probably won't bother to post any further. I very much value my time. You see, you only live once :)

I have already answered your questions, you need to re-read my prior response.

As for there being 'evidence', how can there be?! If you deny there is a God, how then do you prove there is no God that you deny in the first place?!

So you are a science student, you will love answersingenesis.org.

I suppose it is best you move on, but know this...the God you reject will one day judge you.
May He be merciful to you, humble your proud arrogant heart and save your hell bound soul.

I will leave you with this....'for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life' ....may I add even those who ridicule, mock, and deny. Christ died for the ungodly, to reconcile sinners back to God. There is hope, even for you, though you claim to be atheist, you cannot help but be curious. Your visit here proves such...

overoddity,
God has revealed Himself thru His word as well as His creation, you suppress this truth because you refuse to believe and you think you will escape wrath, after all, if you can convince yourself God is not real, then you can live loose and large: the sky is the limit. You are in very serious trouble as God's wrath remains on you. The fact that you currently have breath in your lungs proves He is merciful.
